Tim • Customer Service Representative • Newark
I’ve always loved writing. I attended Brookdale Community College and the College of Charleston for Communications. I was interested in a career in creative writing and advertising. I missed several opportunities to build my career in that industry, because I let my health issues get in the way. I worked as a house painter, but I stopped that too, because I feared a life-threatening symptom of my conditions could strike on the job. I’ve been a Type 1 diabetic since second grade. I overcompensated on my Diabetic Ketoacidosis, which created more health issues, like COPD. I also have depression and PTSD. These made me a liability in all my career paths…before InspiriTec. I joined InspiriTec in 2020, and I’m not walking away from here. InspiriTec is the only place I’ve ever worked where everyone is on your side, and they want you to take care of yourself first. At InspiriTec, I assist Nurses and Home Health Aides with their applications to obtain New Jersey and multi-state licenses. I work at solving their problems by letting them talk before trying to help them. I didn’t have this mindset before coming to InspiriTec. I had a more negative view of the world. The old me wouldn’t have cared enough, and if customers were difficult, I wouldn’t have wanted to help them. I know this, because I once worked as a Customer Service Representative at a phone company. Remember I said I stopped writing? Well, I started writing again! I also enjoy writing and playing music. I made a “real” album with a friend, and we’re putting it on Spotify. I never envisioned working at InspiriTec, but it’s changed me for the better.
