SUCCESS STORIES
“InspiriTec looks at you for the person you are and the work you do, not the medical condition that you have.”
InspiriTec’s employees are our key asset and the fruit of our mission. Each real-life story below reveals the impact made possible through our partnerships with commercial customers and the dedication of our committed supporters.
Monica • Team Lead • Ft Knox
Working in a commercial kitchen was physically demanding, but all part of the occupation I had earned my degree in. Over time, I developed several medical issues – some I was aware of, but most went silently undiagnosed. After several years with the company and due to an unfortunate downsizing, I found myself laid off. Some time later, an ex-coworker of mine – who had disabilities too – began working at InspiriTec and encouraged me to join her. I was hesitant to start a career in the customer service field and was nervous up to the moment I walked through the doors at InspiriTec. The management team immediately made me feel part of the family. Working first as a Bilingual Customer Care Representative (CCR), and now as a Team Lead, I can proudly say that we provide integral services for members of the military and their families. Coming from a military family myself, and having several other family members and close friends that are either military retirees or currently serving, it’s wonderful to be able to give back and serve those who served. InspiriTec has also provided accommodations that allow me to stay successful. Overall, I have had the opportunity to further develop many interpersonal skills – such as effective speaking and listening – along with the ability to decipher or de-escalate inquiries. Being with InspiriTec, it’s great to see that people with disabilities can succeed at work when they and their employer are clear about what they can mutually offer each other. Those who don’t ask put themselves at a disadvantage. Transparency benefits both parties!
