I was so underemployed, I could no longer afford my house nor my bills, so I had to sell. I was relying on others for financial support, which was an unfamiliar and undesirable situation. I figured with my age and disability, maybe a great second career was out of reach – until I joined InspiriTec as a Customer Service Representative on the DMDC Tier 1 Web Services team in 2022. We take calls from Veterans and Active Duty service members, to create DS Logon accounts and update records, and we walk them through the process. I especially enjoy helping the Veterans who are not “computer literate.” I never served in the military, but I have familiarity with the military community. My brother is retired military, I have other family who are Active Duty, and I once worked at a retirement home for Veterans. I’ve always taken pride in my work. I love working and advancing myself professionally. InspiriTec quickly realized this in me, and they have trusted me to complete tasks beyond my job description. As a CSR, I was training new hires and testing new ways to make our work more efficient. I have earned high Quality Control scores for my calls, a Best Attendance award, and a Secure the Bag award (for consistently working any overtime offered). My performance and determination to excel earned me a promotion to Team Lead in November 2023! InspiriTec has accommodated my disabilities in the office, through a lumbar support chair, a seat cushion, and a stand-up desk. I earn enough money here where I can support myself again. I can pay all my bills, and I am working towards becoming a homeowner again. InspiriTec makes employees want to stay here. I not only want to stay; I want to advance as high up as possible! I’m a professional gospel singer with “Joe Leavell w/ 1 Purpose” in Louisville. So I’d like to close out my story here by singing, “Hallelujah for InspiriTec!”
