JoAnn • Level 2 Analyst • Wyomissing
InspiriTec has made my and my family’s life better. My son-in-law, who worked for the State Police project, introduced me eight years ago. My daughter started here a year after me. Since then, we have moved into a home in Lancaster County, where I can care for my grandchildren. When I started at InspiriTec, I was on Social Security Disability, living in the city. I was shut in for almost seven years. I worked in the nursing and education fields, but I had to stop working altogether when the conditions I developed from a car accident got progressively worse. InspiriTec hired me in 2014 as a Level I Analyst, where I assisted Commonwealth of PA employees from various agencies with IT issues. I worked in this role until 2020, when I was promoted to a Level 2 Analyst. I train and supervise Level 1 Analysts, and I track self-service tickets on a database. I enjoy the documentation and statistics work, as well as supporting the team. I do a weekly team email, which includes instructions that allow the team to learn and improve, as well as recognize team members who are doing a great job. Working for an IT Help Desk is different than the nursing and education jobs I had before, but I still get to help people and make their days a bit better. I have a lot of advice for people with disabilities who are seeking employment. Educate yourself! Preparing for a satisfying career is easier and less expensive than you might think. Reach out to agencies that will assist you. Concentrate on your abilities, not your disabilities. Most importantly, never give up! You are worth it!
