My father was a career military man, and I also spent 22 years in the U.S. Army, so I never truly had a place to call home. When I started at InspiriTec in October 2014, I knew I had found my work home. I was halfway through a Bachelors in Business Administration program through the VA – which I finished in 2019 – when my VA education counselor told me about InspiriTec. I was on a two-week medical leave from my job as a hospital security officer, after I got injured trying to restrain a patient on the mental ward. I took the job with InspiriTec, because it was better in every way: there was less risk of injury, it paid more than the security officer job, and it allowed me to work with two things I know well – the military community and computers. I was in the first-ever training class for the DMDC Support Office (DSO) project. I started as a Tier 1 Analyst handling DS Logon calls. I was promoted to a Tier 2 Analyst in Field Support, when that project began in 2015. My primary job now is Kudos & Complaints Analyst for Tier 1 Web Services, which I started in October 2022. I love my job, because I actually get to fix problems in callers’ records. I’ve always loved taking information, seeing he problems with it, and fixing it. And, because I’m retired military and we serve the military community, I know what it’s like to have these same problems! InspiriTec has been accommodating of my service-related disabilities. They’ve given me an ergonomic keyboard, a vertical mouse for the office, a thumbball mouse for home, and a lumbar support chair. InspiriTec also wants me to take on more advanced roles and skills. I mentioned I make good money here, and I’ve used it to pay off things like my mortgage!
