SUCCESS STORIES
“InspiriTec looks at you for the person you are and the work you do, not the medical condition that you have.”
InspiriTec’s employees are our key asset and the fruit of our mission. Each real-life story below reveals the impact made possible through our partnerships with commercial customers and the dedication of our committed supporters.
Theresa • Level 2 Customer Service Representative • Newark
When I first became unemployed, I couldn’t get work in my field. I applied to jobs, but I didn’t get interviews. Eventually, I was unemployed so long, that I feared looking for work and even going out in public. The long unemployment – six years total – resulted in anxiety so disabling that I qualified for New Jersey Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services (DVRS). InspiriTec, who found me through DVRS in 2016, liked that I had experience doing office work, customer service, and data entry. I started as a Level 1 Customer Service Representative (CSR) on our DCA project, where I served professionals in industries related to homes (like engineers, home inspectors. architects, and interior designers). Five years later, I was promoted to Level 2 – a Team Lead position – on our Home Improvement Contractors Board. We assist Home Improvement Contractors (HIC) in New Jersey with new applications, renewals, and reinstatements for licenses. I help Level 1 CSRs with their calls – especially with difficult/complex cases – and I train them. I love giving callers information, answering their questions, and being a support system for my team. I try to help anywhere I can across the contact center: I take calls and messages for other teams when they are overloaded, and I make sure the computers are locked up before I leave each night. I’ve earned awards for my work, from InspiriTec (Employee of the Month several times), and from ACCSES NJ (Most Valuable Support Staff in 2024, which I received at their STAR Conference). InspiriTec gave me an opportunity to return to the workforce, and to serve my community. This job has made me more independent and helps me maintain my life. I am able to keep my apartment – which is big because I was once homeless. My future goals are continuing my education in Computer Information Systems and starting a crocheting/knitting business!
