Honestly, I wasn’t sure of the career path I wanted until I joined InspiriTec in March 2021. My journey before InspiriTec was quite stressful on my body. I joined the Army in 2014 and was badly injured during basic training, so they made me a Radiology tech. I left the Army in 2020, after the increased workload (and radiologic exposure) from COVID became too much with my injuries. I decided to pursue a sedentary career in IT. I earned a Cybersecurity graduate certificate in 2021 from Louisville, which is part of the Masters in Computer Science program I’m studying. I put my information on Indeed, and InspiriTec reached out to me to apply to work there. I started as a Tier 1 Help Desk Analyst on the DSC project at Fort Knox, and was promoted to Tier 2 after a year. I ensure the problems callers report are the actual problems, fix the problems through remoting into the caller’s computer, and perform more in-depth troubleshooting than Tier 1. I can really relate to the callers, who are military members. InspiriTec has provided me with a great training program. I was trained for over two weeks on the DSC and DSO projects, and they require (and pay for) Tier 2s to have the CompTIA Security+ certification. InspiriTec is flexible and accommodating. I found my original computer monitor was too small for my liking, so they gave me a bigger one. They also let me visit my mom in Kenya, and my family in Minnesota, without fear of losing my job. I can spend more time with my son, visit family members, or volunteer at the Red Cross. I’m done moving around places and jobs. I’m passionate about this job and InspiriTec!
